When Gaardsoe joined the club the two sides agreed a deal where Aalborg would be paid a undisclosed sum on the former Danish under 21 internationals 40th first team game.
However, according to reports Ipswich Town have not paid them the sum of money that they feel they are owed, and a spokesman for the Danish Superliga club told BT : "We don't agree with what they are saying over the matter and have asked a lawyer to look at the deal.
"Ipswich have clearly broken the terms of the contract, and therefore we will follow up the case.
"We will ask the assistance of a lawyer over the situation but if needed we will go through the DBU and Fifa and then after that we would have to take the case to court,"
Gaardsoe recently joined West Bromwich Albion for a sum which is thought to be about £500,000.
