Charlton came in with a £3M bid for the young striker on Friday, but Town turned the bid down. However the club did not say Bent was not for sale, and seemed to suggest that they were holding out for an improved bid that then may be accepted.
Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Bent's agent Barnett said: "Darren is ready to play in the Premiership and that could happen this time round but it depends if Charlton make an improved offer for him before Tuesday."
Barnett has represented a number of Ipswich stars both past and present with Matt Holland, Richard Wright, Jermaine Wright and Kieron Dyer to name a few.
