Although the inital fee is zero for the former Sheffield Wednesday and Orient man, it's expected that Charlton will recieve a fee for the midfielder should Town win promotion this season.
Bart-Williams has impressed many in his three month loan spell at Portman Road, and has seemed to improve what was before his arrival, a fairly poor and over-run midfield. However during his time at Portman Road, Bart-Williams has had a tendency to pick up stupid bookings, having already clocked up 9 this season, of which most were for dissent.
Speaking of the move to the Ipswich Evening star former Everton and now Ipswich boss Joe Royle said: "Chris is willing to sign and I anticipate it happening today, although I still have one or two things to tie up with his agent.
