Makin has been out of first team action since August, and Town boss Joe Royle was disappointed to see him unable to carry on after the first half last night: "Chris was uncomfortable and unhappy throughout the first-half for the reserves and came off at the break." he told the Official Club Website

"It's disappointing for him and for the Club because he had trained well for the last 10 days and there were good signs. I have always been cautious about the situation though and now he will have to see a specialist to find what the prognosis is.
"The way he was going, he was edging towards a first-team return but it doesn't look good for him now for the rest of the season. Never say never, though and it's certainly not as bad as the last time he played for the reserves and came off."
