Confirming the news to the official club website, Town boss Jim Magilton admitted: "Dean will be going back to Brighton.
"He would probably like to go there for the rest of the season but we have to be careful with the Alan Lee injury situation, so we're letting him go for just the month.
"Dean going to Brighton is all about the player getting games and goals and building up his confidence and we'll see how it goes after the month."
