The former Birmingham centre back was forced from the field after 27 minutes of the Coca-Cola Championship clash and was replaced by former Sheffield United striker Jon Stead.
Confirming the news of Bruce's injury to the Official Club Website, Town boss Roy Keane said: "Hopefully it's not too bad but we will know more after the scan."
