He could be handed an instant start in the centre of midfield although Mark Kennedy, Colin Healy and captain David Norris all impressed against Arsenal last time out.
Fellow new signing Andy Drury could also feature after he signed from Luton on deadline day with the winger set for a place on the bench.
Lee Martin is available again after being cup-tied for the Carling Cup defeat at the Emirates, but goalkeeper Brian Murphy is set to be out for at least three months with an ankle injury and winger Shane O'Connor remains sidelined with a dislocated shoulder.
