The former Banfield player sustained what is thought to be serious knee ligament damage towards the end of Town's recent Coca-Cola Championship clash against Burnley recently and is shortly set to undergo a scan to determine the extend of the damage.
Speaking to the Official Club Website, the Argentine said: "It's very hard for me at the moment. I have only played eight games and now I will be out for a long time.
"It's the first injury I have had and I know it is a bad one. I felt the pain straightaway. I have to wait now and see what happens when they do the operation and then I will know how long I will be out.
"The only good thing is that it has happened near the end of the season so I will miss less football than if it happened at the start but it's still very disappointing because I was enjoying playing for Ipswich and wanted to help the team get in the Play-Offs.
"I have been down the training ground every day to talk to my team-mates but hopefully when the operation is finished, I will be able to go home to Argentina for a while before I start my recovery."
