Clouting to Join Derby

Clouting becomes the second member of backroom staff to join up with former colleague George Burley after goalkeeping coach Malcom Webster made the same switch earlier in the Summer.

Speaking of the loss, Town Chief Executive Derek Bowden told the Official Club Website: "During his six and a half years at this Club he has made a significant impact on our commercial revenues and been an important member of the management team. However I understand his ambition to move his career on.

"I can, at this point, confirm that we have been able to bring in a top quality replacement for Paul who is scheduled to take up his position at Portman Road on September 1.

"For reasons of confidentiality relating to his current position I am unable to reveal his identity at this stage but I am confident that as part of the management team at this Club, he will continue to grow our commercial business."

Speaking of his decision, Paul himself felt it would provide him with a new challenge: "It has been a hugely difficult decision to take to leave Ipswich Town Football Club. My family love Suffolk and all the fantastic qualities it has and I personally have immensely enjoyed my time at the Club.

"However, whilst not seeking to leave, this type of opportunity rarely presents itself and I feel that the opportunity to move to Derby County Football Club, which involves a seat on the Board, will provide me with a new challenge.

"I believe I leave a strong and committed team at Portman Road that is well positioned to develop the commercial side of the Club yet further and I wish them every success in that endeavour."
