The Irish side took the lead early in the second period through a penalty after Tommy Smith brought down Fahrudin Kuduzovic, who picked himself off to leave Town keeper Shane Supple with no chance.

Gavin O'Neal sealed the win for Cork in the final stages of the game after a poor attempted pass from skipper for the day Jon Stead allowed the Irishman to nip in and slide the ball past Supple.
