Speaking to the Official Club Website, the 30 year old midfielder said: "It has been an amazing 24 hours really and I'm delighted to be here now.
"I was shocked when I heard Ipswich wanted me but excited and thrilled at the same time and it's really turned my world upside down.
"To be joining a massive club like Ipswich, one that is chasing a place in the Premiership, is a fantastic opportunity for me.
"It was an easy decision to make, to come to a place like Portman Road, as it would be for many players and now I want to play my part in helping the Club win promotion."
Currie caught many supporters eyes with his display against Town for Brighton in November, and admitted Town boss Joe Royle said it was part of the reason he made the move for the former Wycombe man.
"Joe Royle said he thought I did well in that game and had seen me play a few times before and I can't thank him enough for giving me the opportunity to show what I can do here.
"The team is strong in all departments and there is a massive belief here that we can go up. I just want to play my part in making that happen."
