Speaking of the announcement to the Official Website, Town Chairman David Sheepshanks said : "In consideration of the outstanding dedication and devotion that Dale Roberts had for Ipswich Town Football Club, both as a young player and later as an assistant manager, along with the tragic way his life was cut short.
"The Board of Directors have decided that a testimonial match should take place at Portman Road in memory and celebration of Dale's life for the benefit of his wife and family.
