The England Under 21 international striker has missed two weeks of action following picking up the injury in the game against George Burley's Derby County in the third round of the FA Cup.
However, Town boss Joe Royle admits that the news is good about the scan, and there is nothing to worry about: "Darren has had some scans done on his ankle and there is no fracture or anything like that." he told the Official Club website.
"He will wear a support for four or five days to keep the ankle immobilised and then we will take it from there. The good thing about Darren is that as soon as he is clear from injury he needs little time in training to be match fit because his fitness levels are so high."
