Speaking to the Official Club Website, the Canadian International centre back said: "I can't wait to get going really. I played at Portman Road with Wigan last season and I can remember the players looking around the pitch and saying 'we'll have some of this'.
"It was a fantastic pitch and with 25,000 there as well, it was a great atmosphere on the night and we played very well to win 3-1. I had another look at the pitch when I came down to talk to the gaffer about the move here and the whole set-up is first class.
"But it's no good having a good pitch to play on if you don't perform and we have to look to build on the performance against Oxford when we play Palace. They will provide us with a good test and they did superbly well to win promotion to the Premiership.
"Everything we are doing at the moment is geared towards the Gillingham match on August 7 and a good performance against Palace will take us one step closer in our preparation."
