The Canadian international defender spent today at Portman Road discussing a possible move to Suffolk as his contract expires with Wigan at the end of June but Stoke and Cardiff as well as Wigan offering a new contract means that Town may not get their man easily.
Speaking to the Official Club Website, Town boss Joe Royle said on Tuesday afternoon: "We have shown Jason around the place and talks have been very encouraging.
"He's the type of player I want to bring in for next season, a commanding centre-half and hopefully that's what will happen but nothing has been finalised, although we should have a decision on Wednesday."
