Speaking to the East Anglian Daily Times, Town vice Captain De Vos said: "I know Jamie by reputation and he is a exciting prospect. He has been called into the Canada squad at just 17, which shows his potential. Hopefully between myself and Frank Yallop we will be able to convince him to come to Ipswich."
17 year old winger Peters has been on trial at Portman Road early this week and impressed in Town's second string clash against Needham Market on Monday.
Following his trial at Town Peters is now also going on a short trial at ex-blues boss George Burley's Derby County, but current Ipswich boss Joe Royle is said to be very interested in securing the services of the Canadian International.
