Tests this morning revealed that the former Burnley centre back suffered medial ligament damage, and looks set to be out until around Mid-October missing the games against Notts County, Watford, Sunderland and Rotherham.
Speaking of the loss of his main centre back to the Official Club Website, manager Joe Royle said: "The experts have looked at Drissa's injury and it's medial ligament damage. He will be out for a minimum of two weeks which is obviously a disappointment."
Royle has also revealed Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent is also out of tommorow nights clash, after suffering knee ligament damage in Saturday's 4-1 win : "He [Darren] is out of the Cup match and is rated doubtful for the Watford game at the weekend after suffering a knee ligament injury as well."
