The Guinea international centre back had a troubled 2003/4 season which was disrupted by injury. After showing some good form before picking up the knock after colliding with Georges Santos, former Burnley defender Drissa had trouble regaining any kind of form.
However on Saturday in the 2-1 defeat of Gillingham at Portman Road Drissa put in a much improved display, and the Town number five admits there is more yet to come.
"When you join a new club the fans are waiting to see something from you. They don't know you and I didn't want the Ipswich supporters to judge me on how I played last season." he told the Ipswich Evening Star.
"Now I feel I am really settling in. I have played football for a long time and I have the experience to cope with playing wherever the manager feels it will benefit the team.
Drissa Promises More
"I have been enjoying it at right-back - I have played there in four friendlies and a league game - but it won't be a problem if I have to switch to central defence at any time."
Diallo will again line up at right back tonight if Canadian centre half Jason De Vos is fit, if however De Vos fails to make it Diallo looks set to switch to centre back with Dutchman Fabian Wilnis filling in on the right.
