The 35 year old Scotland international initally signed on a months loan from the Premiership club, but Town boss Joe Royle has revealed he has an agreement with the player to extend the loan until the end of the season unless Town's Play-Off push comes to an abrupt end.
"While we are in contention for the play-offs he is happy here and is enjoying the football. If we were not in contention for the play-offs, then that is another consideration." Royle confirmed.
"The arrangement suits us, Matt and Leicester but if there is an injury crisis there they can take him back at any time after the first month. At the moment he is very happy here and we have a nodding agreement that he will stay as long as we need him."
