34 year old Wilnis has been offered a new one year deal by Town and looks set to be involved in his eighth season for the club when thw new Coca-Cola Championship campaign gets underway in August.
Speaking to the Ipswich Evening Star, Wilnis said whilst the contract was not finalised yet, he sees no problem with doing so: "There are one or two minor details to sort out, but I don't see any major problems. I would like to stay with Ipswich and think, and hope, that I will."
Wilnis flys out to Amsterdam for a fortnights holiday today, and says that his agent will be talking with the club whilst he is away: “Last week I had a chat with the manager when I made a brief return to Ipswich and my agent will be handling matters while I am away.”
Two of Town's other out of contract players, Drissa Diallo and Pablo Counago were released last week whilst Tommy Miller, Shefki Kuqi and Jim Magilton are currentley considering new deals from the club.
