Speaking to itfc.co.uk, Fabian spoke of his delight of signing a new deal at the club: "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract for another year. This will be my sixth year at the Club and hopefully I can play my part in helping Ipswich get back in the Premiership.
"I love this Club and the delay over me signing was never a problem, it was just that I wanted to sit down with the boss and have a chat about a couple of things.I did that this morning and signed straightaway.
"I have said before that I would be happy to see out the rest of my career at Ipswich and while you never know what might happen in football, signing a new contract takes me a step closer to that."
Fabian is the first of the four remaining out of contract players to sign a new deal, of the others Chris Makin looks almost certain to leave the club after turning down Town's offer of a new contract whilst Richard Naylor and Jim Magilton have indicated that they will sign new deals sometime today.
