Final Day Preview

Town face Cardiff knowing a win would secure them a place in the play-off's whereas if Town fail to win they will be relying on other results to go for them to ensure they take a play-off spot.

4th Placed West Ham United take on 7th placed Wigan at the JJB Stadium where the blues will be hoping for a draw at best, but the worst result for them would be a win for former loan signing Alan Mahon's side, should this be the case Town would need to win their game against Cardiff to qualify.

Outsiders Sheffield United are still in with a chance, but they must win their game and hope teams above them, ideally Town, fail to win their fixtures.

Whilst Reading are still mathematically not out of the promotion hunt, their poor goal difference means that the only way they will get promoted will be if Town, Sheffield United and Wigan lose.

Sunderland are already assured of a play-off place with 76 points whilst Crystal Palace have 73 and require just a point to secure their play-off place. Palace entertain Coventry at Highfield Road.

Down at the bottom end of the table it's Walsall or Gillingham that will join Bradford and Wimbledon in the Coca Cola Second Division next season.

Gillingham must win to have their fate left decided in their hands, and they face Stoke and former Manager Tony Pullis at the Brittania Stadium.

Should Gillingham not win and draw, Walsall must win by 3 clear goals against Rotherham to avoid relegation, meanwhile if Gillingham lost, Walsall would just be required to win with no specific number of goals require to ensure survivial.
