The young Irishman scooped the accolade of The ITFM Fans Player of The Year 2005/2006 after collecting 26.7% of the votes.
Owen was part of Town's FA Youth Cup winning team last season, although he missed the final with a meningitis scare and suprisingly was 'not comfortable' to recieve a winners medal, giving it to his cousin as 'it didn't feel right'.
Speaking to ITFM, Owen told us that he is an ambitious player who wants to win silverware but hopes to do that with Ipswich: "Like most young players I want to win silverware as soon as possible but this Ipswich side has ambition and I want to get in the Premiership with them, either in one or two years time and take it from there."
Owen fought off competition from Canadian Jason De Vos, who got 16.8% of your vote, whilst Fabian Wilnis and Jimmy Juan were very close behind in third and fourth.
ITFM would like to thank all our readers and regular posters for voting and is currently negotiating a deal to present your player of the year with an official award.
In other end of the season accolades Fabian Wilnis won the Ipswich Town Supporter's player of the season, whilst another defender, De Vos, won the player's player. Richard Naylor got the Boxholder's accolade and Danny Haynes won the John Kerridge Award for the most improved player, with Sam Parkin's winning header against Millwall winning the Goal of the Season gong.
