The 30-year-old keeper has been out of favour under current Everton manager David Moyes.
Ipswich may be interested in signing Gerrard on a permanent basis, although during the loan term Everton will be able to recall the goalkeeper in the event of any injuries.
Gerrard is expected to go straight into the squad for Sunday's game with Watford at Vicarage Road.
