The 26 year old defensive midfielder started his career at Celtic, with a loan spell at Coventry followed by a free transfer to the Stadium of Light. His time at Sunderland was hampered by two broken legs but Healy made a promising return to Scottish outfit, Livingston, last season and is now attracting attention from several Championship clubs.
Magilton has decided to hand the Cork born player a two week trial and has promised that he will play him in Town's first pre-season friendly at Boston United: “Colin's agent has been contacting clubs about his availability and we have decided to have a look at him.
“He's training with us and I'll give him 45 minutes at Boston. He's had a few injury problems but he has a decent pedigree and we want to give him a chance to show what he can do,” he told the EADT.
Magilton has made it no secret that he wants to bring in a midfield player ahead of the new season and a player of Healy's calibre would fit the bill without dipping into Jim's transfer funds.
