Ipswich V Burnley at Portman Road - Match Preview

Martin banned for Town

Lee Martin is suspended for Ipswich's home clash against Burnley.

The Town wide man serves a one-match ban at Portman Road as Mick McCarthy looks to bounce back from Tuesday's 5-0 mauling at Crystal Palace in what is his first home game since taking charge.

McCarthy ended Ipswich's 12-match winless run with a 1-0 victory at Birmingham last weekend but the Suffolk club were brought crashing back down to earth in midweek with their heavy defeat at Selhurst Park.

Martin aside, further changes are likely be on the agenda with Guirane N'Daw favourite to come back in. The strong central midfielder dropped to the bench in favour of Andy Drury at Palace having struggled with cramp after his start at St Andrew's.

Striker Paul Taylor (foot) is likely to miss the rest of the season.

Burnley will assess the fitness of defender Ben Mee before the trip.

Former Manchester City youngster Mee suffered a foot injury during Tuesday night's 1-0 win over Leeds at Turf Moor.

Joseph Mills is ready to deputise at left-back if Mee fails to recover in time as Sean Dyche chases his third consecutive win since taking over as Clarets boss last week.

Chris McCann completed 90 minutes in midfield on his return from a hamstring problem in midweek and is fit to start once more at Portman Road.

In-form striker Charlie Austin headed the late winner against Leeds, taking the former Swindon man's tally to 20 for the season and making him the top scorer in European football.
