Sources in Honduras, are stating Emilio Izaguirre, naturally a left sided player, has been offered a contract. Honduras is Izaguirres resident country.
Wide spread reports in Honduras state personal terms have been agreed, which now leaves Town to conjure up a fee between Motagua and themselves, something which is said to be a formality.
Izaguirre or El Milo, as he is often referred to, has been capped 20 times by his full national side, scoring one goal. He was also part of the national team in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands.
Things didn't start brightly for young El Milo. On July 12th he was set to begin trials with the Blues but unfortunately missed his flight, due to complications in his tickets. He finally arrived at Ipswich 10 days later. After over a week of landing in Ipswich, he still hasn't received clearance to play in any friendlies, leaving Jim to only base his judgement on the player in training.
If the reports are true this could suggest talks between Ben Thatcher may have hit another snag. On the other hand, El Milo can comfortably play on the left side of midfield, which would regard him as a replacement for the failed attempt to sign Southampton winger Rudi Skacel.
