Wright who was signed from Crewe by former boss George Burley has been attracting the interest of several Premiership clubs in the past few weeks, and Town boss Joe Royle always admitted he had a fight on his hands in order to keep the midfielder at the club.
However Jamma's future now looks certain to be elsewhere after he yesterday officially turned down the clubs offer of a new two year contract. As an effect Jermaine will beome a free agent when his contract runs out next Wednesday leaving him free to move to a club of his choice without a transfer fee.
The news will come as a big blow to Royle, who has already lost John McGreal to Burnley after he turned down Town's offer of a new one year contract, instead opting for the security of a three year deal at Turf Moor.
