"He has Premiership pedigree and has played at the very highest level with England so it's an exciting signing for us.
"He has played for some of the top clubs in the country and has cost over £10m in transfer fees so that tells you something about the player.
"He has not played as many games as he would have liked at Blackburn this season so he is coming here to do that, play games.
"Having him here as well will also step up the competition among the other front players at the Club so I'm looking for a response from them.
"The paperwork has been completed now and Franny has been added to the squad for the weekend."
