A poor game came to life when substitute Jason Scotland put the Tractor Boys on course for a fourth straight win in the 82nd minute at Oakwell. But they were left heartbroken after a stoppage-time leveller from Jacob Mellis denied Jewell's side all three points.
Jewell said: "It feels like a defeat when you concede a goal so late like that and in that manner, a deflection.
"It's hard to take and we take no positives out of the game - we feel sick.
"It wasn't going to be a great game because the pitch wasn't conducive to getting the ball down. It was going to be a game where mistakes were going to be punished.
"Our keeper made a couple of great saves but I would have been disappointed if he hadn't made them, he hasn't kept us in the game with those saves. We had several chances after the break. We got punished at the end for one mistake."
