Speaking to the Official Club Website, Town boss Roy Keane confirmed: "We have been in talks over the last day or so with one or two players.
"Brucie has mentioned a couple of names and talks are on-going but these deals have a long way to go yet before they are concluded.
"We are looking at a lot of options and our Chief Executive Simon Clegg is working very hard in the background to make things happen. We are doing our very best to get some top quality players to the Football Club.
"Having said that, it has to work both ways. The players I am speaking to have got to show the desire to want to come to Ipswich Town."
