After five games in the Championship so far this season, Town have just managed two draws and three defeats scoring just three times and conceding eight times leaving them in 23rd place with only 1999/2000 play-off rivals Barnsley worse off in the season to date.
Despite Town's indifferent start to the season, Town boss Roy Keane told the press there was no need to worry: "I obviously spoke about promotion in pre-season and I won't go back on that because if the manager doesn't believe his team can get promoted then what chance have we got?
"Are we going to run away with the league? I don't think so. But I'm confident as ever that we'll be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.
"We've made it very hard for ourselves, but with these new players, as well as maybe a couple more on loan, I'm confident as ever that come the end of the season we'll be in the mix.
"People need to relax and trust the manager, staff and players. It will come and we all have to believe it's just a matter of time. Judge us at the end of the season, not after a month."
Town face a Middlesbrough currently sitting in fourth place in the League on Saturday following the international break where it's expected that new signings Liam Rosenior and Grant Leadbitter will make the Town bows.
