Speaking to the EADT, Keane said in relation to bringing in new faces: "We are no closer but we still have a week or two to play with. Midfield is an area of the team I'm looking at but I would not expect any news within the next 24 hours.
"I will be sitting with my staff today and no doubt we will have a chat. It is natural to throw a few names around but we will play it by ear. I'm looking at loan options or maybe bringing in a player but we won't be spending millions.
"There is one or two I have in mind. There are players out there I admire, Gerrard and Lampard, but we are not in apposition to get them just now."
