Klug: Three Players Needed
Speaking to the Ipswich Evening Star, Klug said: "Two or three players would make all the difference. We already have some excellent players at the club.
"Roll on early July when we report back for training. Roy has been first class and we know that he will have his own ideas that he will put into place.
"At the moment he is still taking stock. We finished the season with three fantastic wins and we are all looking ahead optimistically."
Upon the appointment of former boss Jim Magilton almost three years ago, Klug was appointed as assistant manager to the former Northern Ireland international. However following the appointment of John Gorman in December Klug moved to a Player development role.
Speaking of his new role, Klug added: "I had been discussing the move with Jim for a while, and the idea was to take some of the stress away from him.
"It was a positive move, and my strength has been in developing players. I would be okay doing whatever to help this football club, but I am happy in my current role.
"We have Connor Wickham coming in from school plus a couple of lads coming over from Ireland, and towards the end of last season Ronan Murray and Dave Cawley in particular from the current academy group looked very good and showed a great deal of progress."
