Kuqi's Finland Lose

Shefki played the entire ninety minutes for visiting Finland, who were 2-0 down at half time before former Liverpool striker Jari Litmanen reduced the margin to a single goal.

However ten minutes later Jan Polak restored the Czech's two goal lead before Finland launched a comeback by scoring two goals in 6 minutes, first Aki Riihilahti netted on 73 minutes, and with just under 10 minutes to go, sub Jonatan Johansson scored to even the scores.

However the hosts were to have the last laugh, as Vratislav Lokvenc netted with just three minutes remaining to secure the three points and to send the Czech Republic to the top of Group 1.
