Lazio Set to Face Cardiff on 2nd August

Previously it was understood that Town would face the club this summer on 2nd August 2004 as the first friendly in the deal which took Matteo Sereni to Lazio on a free transfer. However it now appears that Cardiff will face the Italian Giants, whilst Town will play them sometime during the season

Town also agreed a deal with Real Mallorca to stage a friendly at Portman Road on August 2nd after the Lazio friendly did not seem to be possible, but Mallorca this week pulled out, and Town are now said to be looking for other opposition before the League Championship kick-off.

Supporters will be left wondering how Town, with their deal with Lazio missed out on playing them in the pre-season when Cardiff seemed to have no trouble pulling it off.
