The former Sunderland head coach will team up with Roy Keane once again at Portman Road, having previously been an academy coach at Leicester City before taking up his post at the Stadium of Light.
Keane considers Croydon born Loughlan as one of his cloest friends in football, with the two having played together during their playing days at Nottingham Forest.
Keane was appointed this morning as the new manager of Town following yesterday's sacking of Jim Magilton. The Cork born former Manchester United skipper has signed a two year deal with the club.
