Speaking to the Official Club Website, the Northern Irishman admitted his sides home form is not as good as it should be: "Home form is the key to unlock the door to the Premiership and we have dropped too many points in front our own fans recently and certainly can't afford many more slip-ups.
"With two home games in succession, against Wigan and then Bradford next week, we have the platform to take six points and really launch our push for the top.
"We are out of the FA Cup now after the defeat by Sunderland, so there are no distractions. No excuses. We have 17 cup finals left and we have got to give it our best shot.
"It won't be easy tonight against Wigan, who impressed me when they beat us at the JJB Stadium at the start of the season and the pressure will be on us, being the home side, to win the game. We have to make sure we can handle that pressure and play the football I know we are capable of."
