Macken has joined Town on loan from Manchester City until January, and former Nothern Ireland International Magilton is delighted with his coup.
“Jon's the sort of player I have been looking to bring in. He can hold the ball up front and bring other players into the game and has proved that he can score goals as well." he told the official club website.
"“I have watched his career since he first burst onto the scene at Preston, where he scored a lot of goals. Manchester City paid £5m for him and I know Kevin Keegan rated him very highly when he was manager there.
"The last year or so probably hasn't worked out for him as well as he would have liked and sometimes when a player gets in that situation, a change of scenery can do a power of good.
“He's coming here determined to do well for this football club and knows the way I want to play football and I'm sure he will suit us and we will suit him.”
