We reported after last nights game that the former Tranmere man had suffered knee ligament damage in the clash against Stoke City, and Town boss Joe Royle hopes to know more on the injury sustained later today.

"We will know more about John's injury later today but it's knee ligaments and at this moment, he has to be doubtful for the weekend," he told the Official Club Website.
