Both players are currentley 18 years of age and somewhat co-incidentally were born on exactly the same day.
Mitchell has made one substitute apperance for the blues, but has been involved in the first team squad on a number of occasions so far this season, whilst Barron is yet to make a breakthrough.
Speaking to the Official Club Website, Town boss Joe Royle confirmed: "The two lads have done really well this season and are progressing all the time. They are regulars in the Reserves and Scott Mitchell has been with us in the first-team squad a few times.
"He took his debut in his stride, albeit only a brief appearance and the two of them have done enough to deserve a professional contract."
