The blues central defender played the midweek game against Walsall alongside Matt Elliott in the heart of the Town defence after having two injections in a broken toe.
However since finishing the game Naylor has been in agony and looks very much a doubt for Saturday. If Naylor does not recover in time, it's likely that John McGreal will come in for Town's longest serving player.
Speaking of the Naylor situation, Town boss Joe Royle admitted: : "Richard did us a great favour by playing on Tuesday but he is a lot sorer for doing it. Even so, I would not give up on Richard yet. If he is fit he will play."
