"He is a midfielder and that is an area I feel we can let players go and I imagine that he will make his decision within the next 24 hours or so.
"Like I have done with other players who have been given permission to talk to other clubs it is their decision.
"He is under contract here and if he wants to stay then he can but he knows he faces a tough challenge.
"We have Liam (Trotter) coming back from injury, Alan Quinn, Jaime Peters and I might be close to signing another midfielder in the next few days."
