Royle's former club Everton are leading the race to sign the former Crewe Midfielder, and the blues has revealed that although Everton are very much interested, a move is not expected yet.
Speaking to the Ipswich Evening Star, Royle said: “I spoke to David Moyes, the Everton manager, on the phone and he told me he would like to sign Jamma. But David also made it clear that the deal is not as far advanced as I had been led to believe. It seems there is still a lot of negotiating to be done.
Wright is one of four players who are currentley out of contract at the end of June, with the others being Jim Magilton, Richard Naylor and John McGreal, and Royle feels that Jamma will be the hardest one of the foursome to keep.
No Jamma Deal Before Euro 2004
“Jermaine Wright is clearly the least likely of all the players who have been offered new contracts to actually agree and sign a new deal. But they all have until June 28th and are perfectly within their rights to wait until then before informing the club of their decision."
