Ipswich Town defender Shane O'Connor has signed a two-year deal with the club after impressing in the latter part of last season.The 20-year-old Irishman made 13 appearances for Roy Keane's side after recovering from an injury picked up early in the season.
O'Connor told the club website: "I really enjoyed last year and was pleased with the progress I made.
"I've got to look to build on that this year," the ex-Liverpool trainee said.
O'Connor revealed that he was always likely to extend his stay at Portman Road despite a two-month gap between a new contract being offered and signed.
He said: "The deal was agreed a while back but it's good to put my signature on the contract, get that out of the way and now I'm looking forward to helping the team have a good season."
