The Republic of Ireland international is on loan at Portman Road from Celtic, but insists he will return to Glasgow in May to force his way into Neil Lennon's plans.
"Celtic is my club, it is in my heart. I have let my head rule my heart for now, which is why I am on loan, but I will be going back to Celtic in the summer and doing my utmost to break into the team," he told the Green Un.
O'Dea has played 19 times for the Tractor Boys this season and was part of the side that beat Premier League title contenders Arsenal in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final earlier this year.
Meanwhile, manager Paul Jewell admits there could be moves both in and out of the club before the loan window closes on Thursday. He said: "We are waiting for clubs to come back to us and there may be one or two that go out on loan.
"There is always something that comes in late so I'm not counting anything in or out," he told the club`s official website.
