The 18 year old was rejected a work permit earlier in the year because he did not play in 75% of Canada's games over the last two years. However Town appealed the rejection and have won it allowing them to sign the Candian International.
Previously it was thought this was not necessary but due to a change in rules Town had to persue the avenue of a work permit after the inital method of signing Peters via a Holiday Visa was prevented from happening due to changes by the Goverment relating to being eligiable for such Visa.
Speaking to the Official Ipswich Town Website, Town boss Joe Royle confirmed: "It's been a long process but we are delighted that Jaime has been granted a visa and can now begin his Ipswich Town career.
"I can say relieved as well because we had our initial approach rejected and it was made clear to us that Jaime didn't strictly fit every element of the criteria. We pleaded our case though and like I say, we are delighted the decision has gone our way."
