There were just over 30 arrests during the course of the evening, with the majority of these being between fans of Ipswich and Norwich in the Town centre before the game. Just 4 of the arrests were made inside the ground, with none made after the match capping off a sucessfull evening for Suffolk Constabulary.
Superintendent Carl Puiy led the operation which involved around 600 police officers and made the following comments about the policing : "There was some disorder in the town centre between high-risk factions from Ipswich Town and Norwich City.
"It was a targeted approach and some of those arrested have been involved in football-related violence before. We got the right people and sent out a message that that sort of behavious will not be tolerated in Suffolk."
