Richard Naylor, Jermaine Wright, John McGreal, Fabian Wilnis, Chris Makin and Jim Magilton are all out of contract at the end of June, and former Everton boss Royle admits that his hands are tied with regards to signing players until he knows where they will be next season.
Jermaine Wright is the most likely of the six players to leave, with Everton and Leeds both said to be interested in acquiring the services of the former Crewe Midfielder, with Everton said to be leading the race for his signing.
Speaking to the Official Club Website Royle confirmed: “If Jamma does leave us and that is still up in the air, then I would like to bring someone else in. We are not in a position to do anything though until the situation becomes clearer with all six of the players.
“The Board have backed me by signing Jason de Vos and I thank them for that but there will not be any more new arrivals until we know where we stand with the other players.”
