"I could have killed Quinny to be honest - it's a good job we won," said Magilton.
"He turned his ankle but, and Neil Warnock was very good, he let us bring Danny on and replace him on the bench.
"We were so disappointed after Saturday and I told the players to use that and take it out on Palace, and they did," added Magilton.
"We got our just rewards. Everybody stood up to everything they threw at us, and it was a wonderful three points.
"That's two away games and two wins - now we have to sort our home form out!"
Neil Warnocks rise up the table has been halted by three straight defeats.
"I thought one or two experienced players let us down. I was disappointed with certain areas tonight and I've let the players know," said Warnock.
"Their goal was going for a throw-in until it hit the lad, and just before half-time it gives them a lift. But we fought hard and Clinton had two great chances.
"We have to get things in perspective - it's the same group of players here plus a couple of additions, but we've seen over the last couple of games that we have players who can easily get put out of place by a loss of form," he added.
"We are persevering, and we'll need some players over the summer which is when we will do our business and it's a matter of doing our best until then.
"But we certainly won't give up on the play-offs, anyone can get into them."
